Tam-Anh Chu received his Ph.D. from MIT. He has penned a number of monthly columns for Vietnamese publications. He organized and published the proceedings of the 1990 Vietnamese-American Conference at Stanford University. He has published over 40 technical papers in journals and conferences. He holds seven patents and a number of awards for technical innovations. He was a Vice President of Engineering for a firm based in Maryland. He passed away on August 24, 2011 at the age of 53. He is survived by his wife and two children in Great Falls, Virginia, USA.
